Step 1 > Is solar right for me?
In order to produce electricity the solar module of our system needs to be exposed to sunlight. This requires that you have roof space or other area that is free from shade most of the day. A southern oriented roof is ideal for the solar modules but an east and west orientation works as well. Our solar energy systems can be installed on flat or tilted roofs.
The size of your solar energy system will depend on your energy consumption and how much money you want to spend. It is important to realize that a solar energy system will not cover all of your energy needs. You will still need electricity supplied from the utility grid at night or when there is little daytime sunlight. However, a solar energy system will help reduce your utility electricity consumption to a minimum. Solar systems are designed to produce electricity during peak electricity demand periods when utility rates are highest. Typical home installations are in the 3-7kWp range. Our solar energy consultants will work with you to design a system that is right combination of price and energy production.
The amount of electricity produced by an Everlight solar energy system will depend on a number of factors, such as the size of your system, average yearly sunlight in your area, and the orientation of your roof.

How does it work?
Everlight Solar Electric systems allow you to generate clean, renewable electricity at home, reducing your utility bills for years to come. Although the technology is complex, systems are simple to install and maintain.
Everlight solar energy systems produce electricity through the use of photovoltaic (PV) technology. PV technology utilizes silicon, a semiconductor, which is fashioned into individual solar cells. When the cells in our solar modules are exposed to sunlight they produce direct current (DC) electricity. The modules are connected to an inverter which transforms the DC electricity they produce into alternating current (AC) for use in your home.
The electricity produced by an Everlight solar energy system works exactly like the electricity you get from the utility company. Our system connects directly into your home’s electrical system.
Yes. For most home owners there will still be a need for utility supplied electricity. Our solar energy systems are designed to cover the bulk of your electrical needs, but you will still need access to your local utility grid at night and when the levels of sunlight are low. For remote home locations where access to a utility grid is not feasible, a solar system can be installed that utilizes battery storage to provide power at night.
Most laws require any solar system without battery backup to be shut down during power outages. This is a safety precaution that prevents random surges of power from traveling the grid and causing injury or damage.
