New Products Development

PVT Module: A solar module that can produce heat and electricity simultaneously. Standard PV-modules convert about 15-18% of the solar energy they are exposed to into electricity. The remaining solar energy converts to heat and is lost as the heat dissipates around the module. This unused heat also has an undesirable effect on the solar module’s performance causing its efficiency to decrease as the temperature rises. Our PVT module captures this unused heat converting it to usable heat energy, for hot water and space heating, while also regulating the temperature of the module. The PVT module incorporates simple, cost efficient technology and provides superior performance at a competitive price.

Our PVT Module Technology in Brief: Our PVT module’s design incorporates a standard glass to glass module where the back glass is in direct heat sink with a sorption material. Through a heat exchanger the heat is transferred from the sorption substance to water for general domestic or commercial use. Our low-cost PVT module has a combined heat and electrical efficiency of 45-50%. With slight modifications, it is possible to achievable different electrical and thermal outputs, the balance of which can be customized according to geographical location and project requirements. By incorporating a front high transparency, vacuum sealed solar glass and insulating the rear side of the module we can achieve a total efficiency of 50-55%.

Planar Concentrators A concentrator is a mirror that reflects additional sunlight onto the surface of a PV module. By increasing the amount of sunlight the solar cells are exposed to, more electricity can be produced. Concentrators can be made from stainless steel, aluminum alloys, silver coated polymers or silver coated hardened glass. Our V-shaped concentrator design is easily adaptable and scalable, offering advantages for both small and large systems alike.

Planar Concentrator – PVT Module System Technology in Brief: When combined with planar concentrators our PVT modules can be used in medium and large-scale power projects to maximize performance, power output and return on investment. Currently under development, our Planar Concentrator – PVT System should achieve a concentration ratio of 4.4 – 5.2 suns. Our system is designed to use standard commercial tracking systems. We believe that this system will place us prominently within the growing field of solar power generation by considerably decreasing the cost of photovoltaic systems and offering a simple, reliable, low maintenance system to developers.
